The Start

Well this is IT, I have had it! I am so tired of being in this new 'mom' body that I have.

To start, I have been seeing a Personal Trainer for the past 9 months. I have learned SO much from him, and have built up confidence and muscle. I have struggled with loosing the fat though. It is so discouraging that after all of my hard work and changing of the "diet" I have not lost any weight! OY! Well I had to say goodbye to my trainer, (not his fault) for $ purposes, and now I am on my own. I was scarred at first, but now I am determined to finish what I set out to do 9 months ago.

With the know how that Kent (my trainer) gave me, I will start training for my first Triathlon! I will plan on doing the KC Tri Sprint in 2012!

This will be my crazy journal of my journey! Haha! Stick with me as some of it will be complaining and griping, but all in all it will be real!

  1. Dyan - I am so proud of you. This will be a great source of support and as you enter the community you will realize you are not alone. We've all been there - mine wasn't baby weight - it was a crazy birth control pill gone awry and a long struggle with eating disorders - I know right!? did you know that? haha - I'm with you. it's a commitment to healthiness of the body and mind. You are one beautiful woman and you'll get back to your inner skinny chick!

My main piece of advice is two fold: 1. make a commitment to wholistic health. - no more crazy diets - I can't believe you tried Atkins! no more - there are happier and healthier ways to do this that will stay with you for your life. 2. Realize mentally - this will take time. For true long lasting HEALTHY weightloss - it takes time time time time time. I know you've been struggling for a while and you're ready to lose it NOW - but it will take time - no "lose a dress size in a week" that's bs. It took me 2.5 years to get 3 sizes down in a healthy way. Make the commitment - you can do it.

So much love and I send you strength and fortitude. I'm following you! Maybe we can aim to do a 10K or 1/2 marathon in the fall?
